will a gmmg catback fit on a 96 z28 with no cutting and no welding?...i wanna know because i wanna try and do it on my driveway

You will have to do some cutting and clamping or welding, the GMMG is made to bolt into stock manifolds

I cant get a straight answer on this either. I've heard you need an adapter kit. I've also heard you need LS1 rear exhaust hangers. I've also heard it just bolts right up! I'd like somebody who knows what they are talking about to fill me in also. I've contacted Vengenace Racing and they told me they didnt even know.

I'm keeping my $700 until I find out for SURE.

Most kits are slip fit and dont need welding but you will need a sawzall to cut of the old pipe over the rear axle off. After its on you can always drive to a muffler shop to have it welded instead of clamps.

Everything you need for an LS1 comes with it....you're putting it on an LT1 and things will need to be cut and welded. That's expected. Catbacks don't just magically slip on and clamp themselves down...It takes work and adjusting. Wherever you take your car to get the work done will be able to do whatever is necessary to get the GMMG on your car as long as they are a decent shop....Worst case scenario would be that you'd have to track down a few clamps or buy a few from the shop.

...GMMG fits all 82-02 Fbody's actually. You shouldn't have to weld or saw it apart to make it work at all. When you order it new you just have to indicate what year of Fbody you have and it will include what you needt o make it work.

Old exhaust gets cut off....Welding is better than clamping. So yeah...cutting and welding are involved.

Ive done like 10 different cat backs and never had to cut except to tske off the stock crap over the axle. We are talking on a stock car or a car that has a y-pipe.
Welding is optional on the new one. Band clamps will work just fine.

I didn't have to do anything special to make the GMMG work with Kooks headers & y-pipe. Everything fit perfectly. I'm not sure what would be necessary with the stock manifolds and y-pipe. You'll need the SLP Hanger kit, which is supposed to come with the exhaust. I think they often forget to include the hangers. I had to call them after the exhaust arrived, and they sent them pronto. Something is up with GMMG right now. Someone else is distributing the exhaust.

Would Vengeance send the SLP Hangar kit? I got it from them a month ago but did not receive any hangars from them, but didn't know I was supposed to get them.

I believe that guy may have forgotten a "not" somewhere in his statement. GMMG told me that you might need a piece of "S" pipe to mate the exhaust up to the stock y-pipe, but I don't have any personal experience using the exhaust with the factory manifolds and y-pipe.
