there really is no need too this has been discussed tons of times on here and there are no horsepower gains to be had by this...and if there is ANY gain it would be MINIMAL!! not worth the time and effort at all...
But to answer your question..Yes you can index them....buy several sets of plugs and use the ones that line up and return the ones that don't...

Yes. They make indexing washers for 14mm tapered seat plugs.
On a bolt-on or mild application, I'll agree with you. But when compression, HP, and RPMs start to climb, a small handful of HP can be had. To you, it may not be worth it, but for those guys chasing that last hundredth of a second, it is. I'm opting to do it ONLY because I'm changing my plugs. Access is easy with the LPPs and I'm one of those guys looking for every ounce of HP.
It's like this...lots of times people remove speakers (or ANYTHING that is removed for that sake) for weight reduction. Each one weighs what...a pound each? Take them all out (depending on what you drive) and you'd save 4lbs (or 10lbs for T/As). In a perfect world using the formula 1lb = 1/1000/sec, that translates to .004 - .010 seconds. Not alot of weight, but people still do it anyway.
I guess the "is it worth it" question is up to the driver.

thanks, but i was not asking if it made a difference.
i come from a racing background since i was old enough to walk (unlike 95% of the people who reply on here) where every little thing adds up to something. indexing plugs has been normal procedure on all the 4 strokes my father or i have dealt with. i am used to trying several different thickness brass shims to get it where you want. just was not sure about a taper seated plug.
thanks RamAir95TA. do you know where i can get those washers?

I would like to see some Dyno Graphs to prove that point.... Most guys use indexing with high compression motors for clearance purposes not for power gains...
Not trying to start an argument just everyone that talks about power gains never shows any kind of Dyno numbers...
I guess I am part of the 95% so I am completely ignorant to anything involving racing...

Sometime "experience" going back a long ways just leads to narrow mindedness and a belief you "know" more than you actually do.
Far as Indexing on a taper seat why not do it trial and error? No extra parts needed.
I read up on this a few years ago and it looked like whether it was worth anything or which direction the plug had to face depended on the head the plug was in.

I agree it is a good and informative article I read it a while back....
However It still does not show back to back numbers that proves their theory of 1-2% or any links to the "studies" that have been performed......
At this point I think we can respectfully agree to disagree as I don't want to get in a great debate. The original poster only asked if it was possible and in all honesty I should not have voiced my opinion on rather or not it was worth the effort as that was not what he was asking. My apologizes....
Yes you can index them and RamAir95TA has addressed everything you need to do so...
Don't want to beat a dead horse to death...
