Default Best 15 dollars i ever spent

Okay i will probably get some **** for posting this here but i figured u guys with the Older cars like mine would benefit the most from it. Anyhow it has been nice out here in PA for a few days so i decided to shampoo the carpet in the bird. I completely removed the carpet from the car and started scrubbing the f-ing **** out of it in my driveway. Needless to say the old stains from the previous owners were really set in and it didn't come out very good at all. My car is 14 years old and has 175,000 on it so the Tan carpet was in sad shape, i wish i had of taken pics to show you how crappy it really looked. Anyhow i went to wall mart and bought some black fabric dye it was 2.70 a bottle i bought 4 of them and a spray bottle mixed the dye up and started spraying it on the carpet. I took my time and made sure to cover the whole carpet with lots of the dye/water mixture, i then went over the whole carpet while it was still wet with a hard bristle dairy brush scrubbing the dye deep into the fibers of the carpet. Then i let it dry completely out in the sun for a while and re installed it back in the car. When i got done i was blown away it looks brand New. And if your like me and hate too much tan in your interior it really evens everything out really nice, I am so happy with it i thought i would share it with you guys. Oh yah and you would be better served to spray the dye with a pump sprayer and fan tip, i didn't have one so i just used a spray bottle witch took a bit longer.

Thanks i am really happy with it. Didn't cost me much at all it was easy to do and it looks new again. I wish i had taken pics of it before, it looked horrible. sombody spilled a pink slushi or something in the passenger side and it was all stained pink and faded pretty bad.

WRONG FORUM DUMBASS!!!!

Just kidding. That looks great!! I pulled the carpet out of my car when I first got it too and scrubbed it down, didn't think about using dye on it though. I was just happy to get out all the dried up cokes, melted candies, and chicken bones out of my car.

If this happens again, consider taking the carpet out and using a power washer or go to a car wash and spray it point blank. Works very well.

Looks good. I had my carpet out and pressure washed it and had carpet cleaner, got a lot of stuff out but that makes it look way better. I may consider doing that.

Haha yah it has three lighters, In case everyone in the damn car decides they need to light up at the same time! They all work too. As far as durability wise i couldn't tell ya how long it will last but for 10 bucks if it fades really bad ill just do it over again. I don't think it will though i made the dye mix really strong and scrubbed it in there really good.

Hell yah man that looks good. I don't mind tan so much as long as it is offset with a lot of black. I absolutely hate A completely Tan interior it looks horrible in my opinion. Not a fan of the red that came in the third gen cars either.
