My cousin installed his Alternator Relocation Bracket on his 1995 Trans am this past weekend. He took it out for a drive and at around 2000rpms or higher, it squeals like crazy. He thought it may have been the bearing in the alternator so, he lubed the bearing and reinstalled the alternator. Well it didn't help, it squeal even more. So he replaced his alternator thinking it was bad. Well the same thing happened. My question is, is there a certain way on installing this bracket? It didn't come with instructions. He ordered it from PCMforless.

change out the belt possibly. check for alignment issues between the pulleys. i had to use a washer behind my crank pulley to line it up with my alternator. it was out just a smidge though.

P.S. Until then turn some Slayer on and it will hinder the noise.

same problem here.....I've got the old design from Speed Specialty and the thing has been a squealer since I put it on. I recently put a new belt on and it only got louder.
Anyone have a good way to check the alignment of the pulleys. Just looking at it, it appears to be lined up but the squeal and the powdered belt dust all over my a/c dryer and battery tell me it's not.

well easy way to check if aligned would be a straight edge an a level..belt squeaks i have fixed in the past is with sand paper..take some and sand on the pullys to give the pully some teeth to grab onto the belt with..check tension also..a belt squeaks because its sliding on a pully..

I guess I'll find out in the next few weeks when my new engine is finished and in the car. I have the newest version which relocates the alt but keeps the ac and ps, which setup is everyone having the belt squealing issues with?

while the belts off its always worth checking all the pulleys and idlers are spinning freely and working properly I've had the odd one freeze up with a seized bearing
