GU6 non locker?

Do they exist in F-Body rears? Dont wanna get hosed at junk yard. Anyway to tell if the rear is out of the car? Looking at a 02' GU6 rear.

You can pull the cover but all v8 cars had a limited slip rear end. The abs from 97+ is different though

If the rear is still in the car, look for code G80 (limited slip differential).

Well I have a 97z which I am looking to swap out rears.

Some V6's had 3.42 gears but not posi (even in the A4's)...I parted out a '98 V6 with a posi 3.42 in an A4 car last fall actually...

I pulled my rear end out of an auto 96 v6 camaro RPO CODE GU6=3.42, G80=POSI, Y87= 4 Wheel disc brakes/Dual Exhaust.

If the V6 Firebird had the Y87 performance package (fairly common), it had the limited slip (G80).

If the V6 Camaro was an RS version, it had the 3.42 gears and limited slip rear with disc brakes.
