Yea to do it right the only way is to replace it...

I guess you could try and clean it well and RTV it but its ghetto and I don't even know if it would work......

p0300 dreaded multi misfire code. I have cylinders # 3 and #7 arcing and #4 and # 8 as well. New jegs wires all snapped in correctly not touching headers, everything looks good (maybe bad wires) ...but upon further inspection yesterday CPS is completely covered in oil as well .

Mine is soaked to, some insight on this sensor would be helpful to know if that could lead to the misfire... Anyone know?

how did you find out that those cylinders were arching? visual inspection?

A crank sensor will throw that code
a Opti will as well...

How long have you had this oil leak?

How does the car run?

Certain scan tools with "enhanced GM parameters" can pinpoint the misfiring cylinder.

Yea I know you can detect a misfire that way...I was more so asking if the computer picked it up or could he look at them while dark and see it....

And if your sensor is soaked pull it out and clean everything off and reset the code to see if it comes back....that is free.....

Had the car about 2 yrs now never really had any drastic problems until now.

Well Arcing from Visual inspection , even changed spark plugs twice in one week to be sure, still the same thing. Might be more just can't see to well with header placement.

Car has been getting drastically worse and worse. Just today was driving to Oreilly's to put in some fuel injector cleaner w/ fuel in tank cleaner as well car sputtering like crazy @ every light.

Just got my msd ign coil in today so going to try that, and then maybe try 4 new wires for arcing cylinders.

Any Suggestions Matt?

well if you are getting visual arch than that is def a place to start....I would put different wires on those and if it stopped the arching issue I would send them back to Jegs and get a different set..(Taylors or MSDs)..

Plug wires arching will cause the car to run like crap..!

did you have the code before the wires??

Well I never got SES light , so i would just go by sound of car really, I barely figured out that prev owner of car i guess disabled SES light so never really checked codes . I have like maybe 6 of my old Taylor wires in my trunk should i try those in the meantime to try and clear up arcing issue 1st?

oh ok that sucks!

Yea if you can feel it missing and see it arching I would switch out those wires First...ALWAYS do the free stuff first...nothing is better than having an issue with your car and it being something free and easy to fix!!

I would be willing to bet that would fix your problems...

then send those back to JEGs and get a different set......

No prob...Pm me if you need any more help...

As for the 355....

I didn't want to go through the extra clearance issues and was just ready to have the car back together...

Other than that...I don't know why I didn't.... I had to buy rods and crank anyways....if I did it over I would have went 383 for the extra torque!

live and learn I suppose..lol
