broke bolt in intake manifold, need suggestions
Guys
Just swapped out my intake manifold for one I powder coated and gasket ported. Anyway was almost done, was tightening the fuel rail bolts down, and snapped the passenger side rear bolt. I guess there was some buildup of the powder coats paint and it did not let it bottom out. Was not paying attention, and was thinking ahead, so this is what I get for not paying attention. Couldn't of been the front as I could get a drill in there. Anyway, I got a right angle drill to try and drill it out, but there is not enough space. Need any suggestions short of pulling the intake back off to fix it. Let me know

I do have a dremel, but the bolt broke off just below the surface of the intake, so it is recessed. I was using a 3/8 air ratchet to tighten it down, it was almost all the way there, and stopped and before I could catch the ratchet from turning, it snapped the bolt. So here is where I am.

The problem I am having is it is the rear fuel rail bolt and as such is under the cowl. There is only 3 3/4 inches from the bolt location on the intake to the roof of the cowl. I was thinking of lowering the k member, rather than pulling the intake manifold. I know it takes about a hour to pull the intake manifold, just feel like I got a good seal on the front and rear seals and hate to ruin it pulling the intake manifold back off
I don't think you can get around pulling the intake to get the bolt out. You need to pull the intake and get an EZ-OUT to remove the bolt. I know it's not what you want to hear but I believe its the only thing you can do. This way once it's out you can visually check why it bottomed out and clean it up.

The only option to do it right is to pull the intake.
This isn't something that I would do, but realistically you'll probably never have an issue with just 3/4 fuel rail bolts.
But I would still pull the intake to do it right.

I just pulled the intake, didn't take long, just really felt good about the job I did putting down the sealer at the front and back china walls. Oh well more practice. Just talked to a friend and he want me to do the intake manifold gaskets on his C1500 with a 7.4 engine. More fun!!!!!
