Fixing this car for a friend. 96 LT1 WS6. Came to me with a decent size leak of some sort. I sprayed it down with brake cleaner, then a good friend came over and said he swore the PS pump was leaking. So I changed that. Went for a drive, came back, leaked significantly less, but still a few drops on the garage floor.
This happened a few times. So last night I wiped/sprayed EVERYTHING down really well. Took the batt. out so I could wipe everything down. Let the car sit overnight. I just went out and its still leaking! And I didn't drive it since I cleaned it off, so there's no residual fluids that got blown around. I'm going to go look at it in a second.
Are these motors prone to leaking from somewhere? Front cover? Pan? Valve covers? This leak is coming from the front of the motor, but just off center on the passenger side. Front main is bone dry.

All of the above ![Icon Lol](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icon_lol.gif)
they are known for leaks. Mainly in the rear though from the intake manifold gasket. my oil pan was leaking as well as the intake gasket but at the rear. since the front of the intake gasket is RTV just like the back it too is prone to leaks although not as often as the rear due to the heat coming from the EGR.

Haha thanks guy. I think at this point it's tears. Lol. I honestly can't tell what it is, because it doesn't smell like anything. It's a reddish brown color. Which the PS fluid is that color, and so is the antifreeze, but you seriously can't smell what it is. The oil is a much darker brown. If I wipe my hand around the PS feed line, it's not wet. Same with the return.
Could the a/c be leaking from somewhere? Anyone know what color that is?

AC evaporates when it hits air...
if it's water based, it's coolant, if it's oil based.. it's something else.
sounds like it's not engine oil if it's red.
PS fluid or tranny fluid, perhaps.
