Hello all,
Anyone ever swap a 1993 system to the 1994-1997 version? I am trying to use Kooks LT headers for the later style LT1's but would still like to keep it emissions legal as they have a visual inspection in DE. Anyone ever done this or know whats involved? I have tried searching with no such luck.
Help for this is greatly appreciated!

What about AIR? On a 1993, the AIR and EGR piping is a combined system. Not so on any model after that. For the EGR, you would only need the 94+ pipe from the header to the intake.
Diagrams of both systems:

So, by looking at the pictures, it looks like the AIR fittings are the same for 1993 and 94-97 but there is a separate EGR takeoff for the 94-97 cars. Is this correct? Do I need anything else except the later style EGR pipe? Sorry for my ignorance, but this is new to me and my car is at a shop a 1000 miles away.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

I believe the later cars also had a air pump hook up on the front of the passenger manifold that crossed over the front of the motor where as the 93 cars only had one on the front side of the driver side manifold. 93s just had that one EGR hook up on the back of the passenger manifold, directly over it. Really, just find some one parting out a 94+ and snag the smog stuff of it. The air pumps and egr are in the same places, so run the later egr pipe to the correct place on the 94 passenger header. Perhaps block off the front cross over on the smog on the passenger header. Keep the 93 air stuff the same on the driver. That may work, its been some time since I installed a set of headers on a 94+. Let me know how it goes, it's getting tougher and tougher to get smog stickers, so I understand not wanting the hassle.

Thanks to everyone on the forms that has responded. Does anyone know where I can get a layout of the 94-97 AIR hookups with part numbers?
Also, if its not hooked up, with the AIR system throw a code?
