Default Is my car cammed? Geared?

Hey guys, lately i've been questioning my car's mods.
I bought this car back during christmas time from a guy for $3000

Its a 1995 Camaro z28 LT1 Motor.
The mods i KNOW it has are..
Fully functional ram air hood
Ram air intake
Flowmaster exhaust
No catylitic converter

I run at personal best a 13.54 @ 103Mph.

I pull up to a car show and a guy wants to run me in a 2010 Mustang. V8 of course, and a G35 on a 50 shot.

I race the guy with the 50 shot and pretty much left on him after i hit my powerband in 2nd.

The 2010 mustang took me from 50 and up.

We then went from a 25 roll and i was in first gear and completely murdered him first 2nd through 3rd and he couldn't catch up.

I pull up to a stoplight and they claim i have a "baby cam" in my car. The guy i bought it from never said anything about a cam, and i never bought one. It does sound a little.. Odd when idling when i have the cutout open. As if its crackling a little like a cam would. (not loping) Also the fact that these cars run 14.2 stock. i have an intake and exhaust with no cat. Thats it. And i run a 13.54.

Having the lt1 engine, i should have 2.73 gears BUT
My first gear tops at 35mph
2nd gear at 60
3rd ??
4th??'
4 speed auto btw

And my friends 98 ls1 can hit 45 in first, and almost 85 in 2nd. same 4L60e tranny with the same gearing.. any idea?

I will upload videos soon and also the sound of my car. Maybe you guys could help me out?

TLR version.
Intake
exhaust
nocat
Should i run 13.5 @ 103 or is that abnormal.
Is my car geared?
why does my car sound like it has a baby cam?

That timeslip shows stock gearing and cammed. What gear you could have, will most likely be 3.23.

wow thats weird. It hardly sounds like i have a aftermarket cam, its just a little bit when the cutout is open.

Hmm 3.23? that would explain why i get worse MPG than my buddy's.

hmm any more responses?

Just because you have an LT1 doesn't mean you should have 2.73's - it depends on year and which transmission you have.

Those times seem good, but I don't know if they're cammed good. But maybe there is more done to the car.

The previous owner of my car says he was running 13.8's with the mods in my signature with 2.73's.

Well thats really weird. The year is 1995, i don't know which gears it had that year.

See i don't have headers. I have the stock manifold with a cut out on the y pipe, Also i have Kuhmo tires. Not the best in the world, and a pretty bad exhaust leak. And i ran 13.54

My buddy's ls1 with exhaust, intake and 315 rears runs a 13.3 We are always neck and neck when we race.

His car is an LT1. Your times don't personally give me any indication of being cammed, especially since you have stock manifolds. Lots of minor bolt-on guys have gone that fast, myself included (back in the day). If it was cammed, then whoever owned the car before you is retarded to install it with stock manifolds.

To determine your gear ratio, put the rear end on jack stands and turn the driveshaft, counting the number of driveshaft rotations with one turn of the tires. That's the quickest and cleanest way to determine what gear ratio you have (if you are unsure of the accuracy of the RPO codes).

GU2 - 2.73
GU4 - 3.23

and in case you didn't know, the RPO codes are in the glove box on a '95...

I highly doubt yur car is cammed...those other cars are just making excuses...13.5x's on a bolt on LT1 is very doable...

Last run I did was a 13.6 with a cutout, 1.6RR's, shorty headers, and a CAI...

You're not cammed, just running properly - unlike half the trashed LT1s running around needing tune-ups and optis .

My 94 came stock with 3.23s, I'd assume you have the same.

My car also came stock with 3.23's. Check in your glove box in the codes for GU5, if you have that code it came with 3.23's. Also my car only has a CAI and minor weight reduction and it went 13.9 at 102 with a terrible 2.3 60'. So i should be able to get it to go mid 13's with CAI only.

3.23 were the preformance gears for auto's. Not all auto's came with them. As RamAir posted these are the RPO codes to look for on the door.

You could also check quickly if you have a selectable 1st gear as I always saw 2.73 geared LT1's with a little rubber blocker to stop from selecting 1st gear manually. But you really need to just check RPO's or revolutions once you jack it up, also sounds like stock cam mild bolt on times to me.

i was wondering when somebody was going to post those codes ^^. doesn't sound like its a cammed car just a well running lt1 that has been hooking well what was your 60ft when you went that time? no cam with full exhaust with a good suspension and street tires i went 12.946 at 105.39 with a 1.847 60ft just to show you what a stock bolt on lt1 can do, and there are alot faster ones than mine out there! oops just saw ram air posted it first good call with the rpo #s
