I recommend doing the basics.. Check your plugs, change your fluids. I would say change your end links on your sway bars..

But, start off slow with your suspension.. Keep an open eye for deals on here.. Or save your money and wait to get a LLoyd Elliot package.. Or check out port masters.. They can really open up the heads you already have..

After then you will see noticeable power..

Have you done all the "free" mods?

Well first things first.

Plugs, wires, fuel filter, trans fluid Change all four.

Than, get some bolt in subframe connectors. They will help out a ton. Next would be a pcm tune. After that find a spot to weld in the subframes. Should run you 40-60 bucks, the welds with further stiffen up the car.

Than look in the for sale section for a used stall. 2800-3200rpm. Try for a better brand. Yank, Vig, etc.

No need to reread his post. My point was that there was lots of useless information. Shoot why not just suggest a 555 BBC motor too but put that like 45th on the list. Why not just keep the list going. Next we can suggest a top fuel motor too.

And btw lots of guys are going 10's and 11's with stock suspension and stock cubes. All the suspension stuff is not really needed until you're really trying to run some serious times. LCA's and relocation brackets are about the extent you need in a street car. Although SFC's are nice and a good set of sway bars will make cornering fun. But the main point is that he wants a faster car, not a race car, and all the suspension stuff isn't going to make for a faster street car. I don't know many guys trying to hammer the throttle off the line on the street.

Lots and lots of options for ya...complete the list of bolt-ons for a good starting platform, and also consider suspension.

One thing many people don't recognize is that with suspension improvement, not only do you have the ability to launch/control the car better, but you also ditch a lot of weight with tubular suspension pieces. Check out BMR, they've got lotsa goodies...

also, on the topic of weigh reduction, you can ditch the A.I.R/EGR junk (state law/inspection pending of course -also cleans up the engine bay) and also remove the spare tire/jack to loose up to about unneeded 35-45 lbs...
