I wasn't doubting the fact the car (or you) ran that time, I was doubting that you achieved it with so little mods.

If it is like you say it is, your car is running really strong!

I think it can come down but it will require gears probably. Got them in my room(4.10s) just thinking about sending them back to summit. Anyways I may be able to get it down with a little higher clutch slip like 4600-5000rpms. Ill just be happy to find a friend to let me borrow some tires again to shut up the doubters. One more 7 second pass and all doubt should go away

i dont understand how there is doubt. it was a killer pass. for a M6 u must of hit everything perfect, the launch and banged every gear perfect. its completley believeable. its not like it was a 7.60 pass it was 7.99 lol some people just get upset when they see a car with little but well thought out mods completly rip **** on there times with big $$ mods.

good track times r all in the details of the setup, all the small things added up to create one good setup. just throw heads and a cam on a stroker wont net u ur full potential.

Wheel hop killed my 60' time, you have bad wheel hop?

EDIT: Left lane, also you think if i got LTs and 1.6 rr it will shave a bit off my time, im only running shorties now.

Yea that is some super #s for a bolt on car,my cam only car ran its best 8.19@86 with a 1.86 60ft yesterday,my car has a best (60) of 1.77 and if the weather was cool and my dump car would stop cutting out at high rpms,I will be happy with 8.0s,but my car also weighs 3600,with a baby stall.

Don't pay attention to all of the heads/cam guys who still run 13's. They are just jealous.

sweet run man! I did a 8.396@85.33 with a shitttttty 2.010 60' with all your mods minus the rrs, ram air, and ET streets. If i cut your 60' id be at 8.05, plus your rockers and ram air, that time sounds about right. Good luck with that 10 bolt, I have a set of ET streets but am afraid to run em, might have to now seeing those times tho!

(for the nay-sayers)

whytryz28, was that an LS1 you raced? the mph vs et looks like a LS1 with headers...

It has been brought to my attention that I posted the wrong mph on my pass. I posted my best mph of the day as the one on this pass and on my 7.998 it was actually 82.83 the 84.87 was on an 8.59 pass with a 2.17 60' Sorry

Do you have any dyno # and raceweight? Very good times..
Most lt1 and ls1 drivers don't get good times because of fear of breaking the 10 bolt. If that wasn't the case drivers would leave hard of the line.. See if you can get a video next time....

Where does the stock 10 bolt generally seem to blow?

I've heard you're usually pretty safe until the 1.6-1.7 range?
Of course theres a lot of variables, but any estimate?

On that 1.76 it didnt really seem to shock it at all, my friend has a stalled auto ls1 with 3.73s and cam and with the tires I was using which are his he cuts like 1.66-1.67 all day

i cut 1.68's on mine and its fine....

there is tooo many variables to generalize it. a A4 will always put less stress on a rear end then a M6 less shock

There's lots of variable like whether the car is A4 or M6, change fluid regularly, how you launch it, size of gears out back etc. etc.

I cut 1.5's on mine but I am an Auto with 3.73's and I make sure to change my rear fluid every season. If I were an M6 or better yet and M6 with say some 4.10's, my rear would have blown up a long time ago.

If you sidestep the clutch at 5000rpm with some drag radials which dont have much sidewall to cushion the blow, you can say goodnight 10 bolt. ET streets or anything with a soft sidewall gives a nice cushion, and if you get pressure on the gear teeth before you dump it youll be better off, its not the acceleration that normally breaks it, its the shock of tooth to tooth. If you were able to burn the clutch for a split second and START moving forward, then dump it, you dont get the shock. When you footbrake an auto you are applying the initial force on the teeth already, so when you let up there is no shock, thats why autos go alot deeper in the 60's and ets than manuals, because its alot harder with a manual to not shock the gears, not saying there arnt some really good drivers on this board who are deep in with 10 bolts. Wheelhop kills too, your just shocking the gears over and over when the wheel hits the ground.
