Default Does this piece go under timing cover?

I was wondering if the piece in the first pic is supposed to go where it is right now or should it not be there like in the second pic?? The piece over the crank snout?? Where does it go if not there.

also, do the 2 pics that show the timing chain, one where my finger moves it a little in and the other where it is not being touched, does that seem like "normal slack".

Also, what is the piece in the very last picture and where does it go? I remember when I pulled it out of the car it was just screwed into the block on one of the sides, need to refer back to a pic I took a while ago.

thanks

What year is motor is the engine out of? That looks like what a crankshaft position sensor reads, think 96-97 cars had them.

The last picture is the oil pressure sensor.

its a 96, info in sig. So is that where it belongs? just can't remember when I took it off and I don't want to put the timing cover and everything back on if it isn't supposed to be there, but makes sense for it to go there since it fits right over that little key part.

thanks

Im not 100% sure, but im 99.99999999999% sure it goes under the cover being as Ive NEVER seen something like that outside of an LT1 chain cover before.

Ive heard that anything more then 1/4" slack, you should replace it.

What do block off plates have to do with anything? They should not be in the way. An alternate place for an o/p sensor is here.

i see now, I thought it went into the intake manifold or into that solenoid and then realized it is going into the actual block at the top there, funny thing is I have it screwed into that right now just sitting since it fit and I didn't want to forget about it.

thanks again.
