I'm wondering if you are getting a knock reading from the launch which is pulling a ton of timing....It should trap a ton more than that. Hell it probably trapped 100mph bone stock....

Thanks ill have to call tomorrow and hopefull get it on the dyno sometime soon to see what its doing.

I doubt it but possible. Madz28 tune probably desensitized the knock sensor.

Just have them hook up a wideband to it to make sure its not running super lean or super rich. That would kill all your power if its doing either one and potential damage your engine.

I could only launch at about 1500 with the stock torque converter so with a higher stall it will definitely do better. It just doest feel like it has any low end it pulles a lot harder on the top end but by then its too late. With a set of gears and higher stall will really wake it up.

damn what do you have for gears now? 2.73's? gears and stall will def help but your mph should be higher than that! whats your 1/8th and 1000'?

i was with him this weekend and the car didnt spin at all off the line. It was like it just bogged down on the launch. Is anyone elses running a setup like this and what type of times are you running. any help is nice so we can get thiscar to its potenial. thanks alot

I have 3.23 gears now. my 1/8th was a 9.17 and 1000 was 11.81

Something is far far off - 100mph trap speed is super weak, should a bolt/on cam car be able to run 12's with a good 60'? I turned 102.5 mph with a just about stock, heavy convertible at a 1450DA. Even the magazines were running stock SS LT1 cars in the mid 13's with better mph. I think you're broken somwhere. If the car is 60' that bad because of a bog, you've got some issues, because you should be able to blow the tires off with a reasonably hard launch.

What was the 1/8th MPH - so we know what you're picking up in the back half. I just can't see poor gearing/no stall being that weak.

Start with the simple stuff. Good fuel pressure? A/F ratio at WOT? What was the 1/8 mile speed, that'll tell us a lot more about how the bottom is pulling.

Yeah something is Off my old LT1 back in the day trapped 110 with a LT4 Hotcam,CAI,and Shorty's.Like everyone else said Dyno and Log it,Check for Fuel Pressure,A/F,Timing,Detonation,Knock Retard,Miss Fires,Valve float,Etc....

he needs a stall to compliment the cam. thats why the car is falling flat on its face on the launch

Stock converter isn't going to result in stock to lower than stock trap speeds - still something far off. We all know ET isn't a good indicator of power, but the trap speed really tells he's not making anywhere near the power he should, stock converter or otherwise.

i guarantee a stock stall, stock gears, shorty headers, flowmaster muffler, stock injectors, mailorder tune and a low shiftpoint could cause him to lose 15 mph.
