first time at track not to impressed
You need to figure out what is robbing the car from power. Something isn't running right. My car was spinning like a **** on stall launches on Sumitomo tires with 2.5 60 fts my first time out and I still managed to trap 80mph. Spinning isn't winning for sure!
The CC306 needs more than 6000rpm to be pulling to power. You need bigger fuel injectors. I wonder what your "ported heads" flow. 3600 stall, 3.73 gears, LT's, ORY, cutouts, etc. should help you out quite a bit. A nice dyno tune or pcm4less tune will top it off also
Where are all the "his MPH is fine given his mods" people now?
Dyno, data logging, wideband, and let the trouble shooting beginning.

That little pop probally is an intake backfire due to a lean condition. i have delt with the same issue.. usually at low rpms right when you first hit the gas pop then go right? lol good luck

One of your runs showed a 21 mph increase from the 1/8 to the 1/4 mile. I always get 21-22 increase on my bolt on only car. I usually trap 104 to 105.
I would follow everyones advice on here and get a high stall good gears long tubes and most importantly a dyno tune. Then you should have some great times!!!
also you said 2 things that give me nightmares they are 7k rpm shifts and 100k mile opti!!!!
Your MPH is still significantly low, you have lean backfiring, and you've verified (via a plug-chop?) that you're running lean - those are all good signs that everything is not all right. You need to get on a scan tool and wideband at a minimum to make sure everything is safe. Once its running a good a/f ratio without any issues you can think about getting on a dyno to get a spot on tune - mail order is ok, but that farther you depart from the norm, the more you really need to do it hands on, you've got worked heads, different valve sizes, and a modified compression ratio - that's getting beyond the realm of a mail order tune being good enough. And a 100k mile oil covered opti may be work checking, especially if you're trying to see 7k, which, is likely overkill considering a stock bottom end. Even if a dyno pull showed you're making good power there, I wouldn't want to turn those kind of revs without a minimum of some better rod bolts.
A 5 hour drive to PCMFORLESS will be well worth your time and money if you cant find a good shop closer...
