Default tune issues

I got a tune from madz28 a while ago when i did all my bolt-ons and my car has never run worth a damn when its cold. It's pig rich enough to burn you eyes and misses so much it sounds cammed at idle until it warms up. I'm running ngk tr55's at the moment. Could it because of the egr delete? I also have noticed that part throttle when cruising is ****, there is no power and it seems to come and go with my foot in the same spot. The car pretty much only runs good when its warm and my foot is on the floor. I know the engine is healthy because i had it out when i did the overhaul. It looked like new inside. The only thing i can do is have the local speed shop do a dyno tune, but i don't have the 500 bucks they want to do it. to blow.

i have a pretty similar setup to yours except i have a cam and 1.6's. I just got my madz28 tune and mine is idling fine. I also do have the same cruising issue but its barely noticeable and it is running rich tho i might see if he can adjust that for me

I have a 93 also with all bolt-ons, still short headers for now, and have a small cam(zz4 w/ 1.6/1.5 rocker split). I now have the equipment to do my own tuning, but I still have my Ed Wright chip that was for that cam and none of the open loop tables are different when compared to the stock tune. I also have 24lb svo's and the injector constant is at 25.3, stock was 22. I have no issues with running too rich in open loop.

93's are the last year with a removable chip. Most tuners will send you a new chip with an adapter board to piggyback your stock chip. If you want to tune it yourself, then you would need a burner, blank chip, and an adapter board. If you want to tune in realtime, moates autoprom. I use the autoprom, and it is very nice.

i dont know much about the 93's but it sounds like you have a problem, and no tune is going to fix a mechanical problem, do you have any codes stored, or any way to monitor your sensors to see what the hell is going on

could be something as simple as a bad coolant temp sensor

Nothing against Ion but I used him on my '96 vette. I had some issues that I couldn't get seem rid of. Rich was one of them. If you can't do a dyno tune.......I got this guy to do it and also at a much cheaper price,I'm very pleased with his tune.

My best run at Rockingham in pretty good air was 12.3 @ 109 with stock heads. See sig for the rest of my mods.

There is no mechanical problem at all. The car runs rich when cold, but then runs fine, therefore it is the tune. The warm up tuning is just not there at all. It's just a shitty mail order tune that is for wot, thats all. I was just expecting more out of it i guess. I just talked to a tuner here in colorado and he said the same thing, he knows more about the tuning than i do and knew exactly what needed to be changed.

from what i'v heard and researched, the best way to get the right tune is to just pay for a dyno tune, theres no better way to get the warm up and part throttle right.

The burning of the eyes is no cats. No cats of a fat tune will make you cry like a baby lol. My 383 burns my eyes. no cats either.

^^x2. I don't have a cat and mine does the same, though I am not overly rich in open loop. Mine's not too bad.

haha Yeah i know that no cats will do it, I guess you'd have to actually smell my car to understand how rich it is, I know for a fact its waay too rich, but only when its cold.I did my best to drive into own the other day with my foot at about 1/2 throttle and it got terrable milage, so I'm pretty sure it's rich when the power seems to come and go at part throttle too.
