Default first time at track not to impressed

first off the car is a 94 z28 a4. finally got the car out to see what it would run. The best i ran was a 14.06 at 100 mph. With a 2.28 60'. I have a stock bottom end with stock aluminum heads ported and decked .020. 55cc chambers. comp 987 springs, seats, shims. They have stainless 2.0"/1.6" valves. Comp cromemoly retainers, locks and viton seals and 1.6 rr. And the intake has been ported to match heads, Shorty headers, no cats with flowmast muffler, moroso intake, and a madz28 tune.
I wasnt to impressed with the time i was running and think it should run a little faster. What do you guys think. I plan on getting a stall, gears, longtubes, and a cutout.

does it have a cam?
looks like you blew the tires off. if it has a stock cam, i would say thats about what to expect with that car.

I been wanting to get it dyno tuned. Aud i figured the first passes wouldnt be good since it the first time ive ever ran a car on the track. It hooked pretty good but the 60' just wasnt all that great but it felt like on the top end it was pulling pretty good.

considering that 60' time there is quite a bit left on the table. the valve size suggests high RPM running however the cam(stock) is not working for you up there. you really need a cam to compliment the valve size.

i figure depending on your tracks altitude and actual DA you should be running 13.5.. tire and a 3600 stall will get you to 60' much better.

I dont think its the cam. Like i said it the first time i ever ran anything at a track so of coarse its not going to be good. And i dont think stock gears and stall helps any.

Crappy 60 or not the Damn thing should trap a little higher than 100... I trap that at 8500 DA with a much smaller cam and bone stock heads.... that was with a failing opti too...

And people don't believe me when I tell them how I rape 306 cammed n ported head cars...

I would think that it would 1/4 more than 100mph even w/ that slow 60'.

Runing 100mph is saying that your down on power.

Put it on the dyno and hook up a wideband to it to check the AFR. Then hook up a laptop to it and dataloge it to make sure its runing like its suppose to. Look up Tunerpro rt or FreeScan.
