Default can i use these pistons

i have a 97 z28 camaro lt1 with d1 on it...can i run these pistons on my motor TRW forged domed pistons. Part number L2252A-60. Around 12 to 1 compression with 64cc head. 4.060 bore. 3.48 stroke. 5.7 rod.I would like to get the compression to 8.5 to 1 for more boost?????

You answered your question in your own post, if they are 12:1 on a 64 cc chamber ........

lol.....heyheyhey...."first fast car,so i thought" was a 87 iroc z "stock"...have no clue about internals all i know is i want to do forged internals for more boost!!!!! I already have all the bolt ons including ported manifold 58 mm t.b. 410 gears,water meth kit 60lbs injectors.So what piston can i use,stock bore or stroked??????

basically a domed piston is the exact opposite of what you want for low compression

you'll want to look for a dished piston

also LT1 heads are around 54-56cc. so if a piston makes 12:1 with a 64cc head, in a smaller space with 54cc heads it will be a higher compression of more like 13:1

btw hopefully you're not running a meth kit and 60# injectors currently on the car

Being that you know absolutely nothing about the internal workings of an engine, I'd pass the short block off to a qualified experienced engine builder.

ok thanks ,so im gonna ditch buying those pistons.the meth kit is installed but havent ran it yet waiting to install cam,pistons,and more boost pulley b4 i retune car with water/meth...

Just cause you have a lot of money in metal in the shortblock doesn't mean it will stay together. Find someone with some FI motor building and tuning skill.

yeah i already have a tuner.ive had my car tuned..im just waiting to do internals b4 re-tuning.so my queston is what brand and type of piston do i need, i would want compression @ 8.5 to1.Put it like this i want 5+ rwhp b4 meth! with my d1 procharger,fmic

8.5:1... probably too low. shoot for around 9.5:1. Start looking through catalogs to find a piston. I'd look at JE.
