DEFINATELY do NOT disable 43. Whoever says that needs to be ignored, knock sensors are important. Easiest way is to simply buy the sensors for the OBDI, they are not expensive and could save your engine.

I personally use AKM cables but I am sure there are vendors on here that will provide a cable. They were ~$100 and worth every penny.

Good luck

The resistance value of the OBDI is different than OBDII the easiest solution is to buy the correct sensor (OBDI in your case to match the new computer). You can also modify the circuit to use the OBDII but why bother.

If you use the wrong sensor you will get either no indication of knock or alot of false knock. I NEVER recommend bastardizing so IMO do it right or don't do it at all.

Good luck

No he linked the wrong cable.

http://akmcables.com/ic.htm

he should have linked

http://www.aldlcable.com/sc/details.asp?item=aldlobd2 (BUT this one is an RS232) so look at AKM cables they have what you need as I said

You presently have an OBDII connector and can continue to use it with OBDI computer. That computer used an OBDI connector in 94 and some other 95 cars, and then also used an OBDII connector with an OBDI computer on some 95, then in 96 switched to an OBDII computer with OBDII connector.

Also AKM sells a USB cable with both OBDI and OBDII for I think $115 and $85 for a USB OBDI

Good Luck
