Default A/C delete question

I'm curious if there is a thread with a "checklist" of all the things to take off for A/C removal? I tried searching but came up with nothing. I also read somewhere that you can do a little fabrication and replace the A/C pump with the alternator and replace the alternator with an idler pulley, any info on this? Thanks!

Go to advanceauto and get an AC delete pulley, drop your compressor, and bolt it on. No fabrication. 2 bolts on the front of the compressor, 2 on the rear bracket, and 1 holding the rear bracket to the block. Start yanking AC parts like condenser and lines, youll drop maybe 30lbs.

Yeah, that looks great! I'm really wanting to clean up the passenger side of the engine bay for my long tube install soon. I'm hoping that it will make it a little easier without all of the a/c crap and alternator out of the way. Spill the beans!

Or this thread. This isn't cheap, but looks the best.

Then make a panel and take out the heater box. Not necessary, but cleans things up.

MERV shows how to keep the heat. There are a couple of others that have modded plates to allow heat.

when i installed mine i went from the bottom. pretty painless. the only thing i had to move slightly was the steering linkage. tip about going from the bottom is to jack the front end up as high as you can. good luck!

Yeah, the more I look the more it looks like it's not going to be as bad as some people make it out to be to put in the longtubes. I also have access to a lift and a shop so I guess I should have it pretty easy . I also just like the look of a clean simple engine bay. Coming from an 87 Mustang 5.0 I feel like every time I work on this thing haha.
