Default thinking of buy'in a lt1

i am thinkin of buyin a lt1 camaro i dont no much about them the guy says the engin is rebuilt but the intake was leeking oil so he put a new gaskit he wants 2500 it is in prety good condishion do you guys think the whole rebuild was bad if the intake gasket is mesed up the rebuild was about 15k miles says the guy ... can any 1 help me out here . thanks

nah his gasket could of went bad from not tq the intake down right or other lil things....

i paid 1500$ for mine and it has 152k on it but thats here in mass an camaro go for more but i still got a deal for it seeing i didnt see 1 less then 2300$ when i got mine..

take it to a good shop and have it looked over..see if it has codes,get what all it has done to it and try and get the rebuild receipts..

holy horrible grammer... from both of you... get receipts. if it is a legit rebuild then thats a really good price. the intake leaking is really common and would not cause the rebuild/motor to be bad, you would just need to fix it.

I agree with suicidal, take it to a shop to get looked at.

lol....your right i cant use gramer for the love of all ball bearing turbo's.....good advise thanks

i am probly gona get it but dose any 1 ever have problems with the optispark ?ls1 junky my brother says his lt1 had that problem becase a hose would leak on it did any 1 els have this problem ?

the optispark is a common problem with the LT1's. with that being said i have yet to have a problem with mine *knock on wood*

make sure u get the car checked out first by a GOOD shop. and make sure u get reciepts for his so called "rebuild" before u put any money down

yes optis are a pain in the dick..lol mine went from just sitting out in the winter..ran fine 2 weeks later took it for a drive and it was spitting,poping and couldnt get out its own way..


you can rtv the cover and do the opti tricks to help you out.
