Dude just leave the car alone for now till you can afford more. Honestly what your wanting to do and from what your saying is plain unrealistic. I would kill to have an already built blower car. Your complaining about alll this crap, well I'm in College too and I dont have the luxury of a car with an already built motor and blower. Let me put it this way untill your willing to go all out and not mess around with a small shot and this and that then just leave it alone. Your car has the working of a solid blower set up but I really cant see why you want to change it. Your going to spend way more money seting that car up for gas and going 10s than just working on the solid foundation on which you have now.

I Need to get an intake manifold for my 5.3l silvy but i dont know where to even start. Any suggestions. I'm looking to supercharge in the future so all cam, heads, and intake setup is ideal for me first. And are the intake manifolds on these engines interchangable 4.8/5.3/6.0 and zo6 5.7

I really have no idea... I don't know much about the LS1-styled truck motors. You should try posting this in the truck forum, it really has nothing to do with LT1s...

Oh yeah, and I've decided to keep my car blown.

black, you want to keep your intake, trucks have more weight to move so they are set up for more low end. If you want to blow money and not worry about an intake get a magnuson, they are twin screws and replace the intake.

Enis, seems like money problems are just a thing for college students. I am in the process of selling my ls1 for an Lt1, why, well lt1s just handle boost much better than ls1's, the whole head lift problem. Just keep the blower on, at that comp ratio you are going to loose power, most nitrous aps. are high comp. Your car is set up for a blower so just stick with it. Just keep reading up on lt1 blower aps and keep it up. I think your motor can handle more than 9#, friends mustang had a maxed out t-trim minus the intercooler and he ran it at the track all the time, think it was 19-20 lbs. 9#'s is fine for a stock motor (I think) forged internals make everything different. I would personaly keep it the same, get an LT4 intake, save up for a set of P&P heads and up my cam to a little more duration and lift on a 114, 115 lobe sep. This sep is better for blower aps to keep boost from bleeding off. I don't think the intercooler will help that much other than it is a daily driver and that air is going to get hot. Should i look into this setup for my upcoming 97 WS6 or should i look into a pro charger.

You're right about the LS1 head lift problem, that's the key reason I wouldn't charge an LS1... big cubes and gas are the way to go, there.

The current plans are a swap to Jet hot longtubes with a fabricated X-pipe and a couple of bullets and turndowns. I'm going to be swapping in an ATI 3-core air to air intercooler this summer, along with a 2.75" pulley. I should see around 13-15psi through the intercooler, considering I hit 11psi this winter with the 2.95" pulley. I would invest in a rear, but I have absolultely no money, so I'm just waiting until the 10-bolt breaks, and I'll find some way to get a Moser 33-spline 9-inch with some 3.73s. After that I'll get my hands on some ported stock LT1 heads, prbably CNC< since I'll never be able to afford AFRs. After that comes a higher stall TC and a 224/230 114 comp grind.

I was able to play around with my car later by working part time (15-25 hrs) as a lab tech during school.. but I worked more because I enjoyed what I did.

I guess it is possible but you would have to know a lot more about what you are doing then you do. Let me know when you get there. You really want to run 10's on the cheap?

1. Sell Blower
2. Buy Beater
3. Buy a cheap n2o setup
4. Buy wheels/tires/headers/converter/whatever
5. gut the car or just swap everything into a gutted thirdgen
6. go racing and hope they don't notice that you don't have most of the safety equipment needed
7. pray nothing breaks

My advice for now.. sell the blower on ebay, keep the 2K and be able to afford gas/insurance and optisparks and worry about "running 10's" later.

And what was wrong with my original advice.. ? I didn't see any part about how you needed advice on how to run 10's with what you have now and $300. Maybe I missed it in the original post.
You're an *******. Jon is pretty well respected around here. He contributes to this site very much. You on the other hand do not. Someone asks for help and you kick them in the nuts. Nice work. Let's see this monster car of yours. It better ******* run 9's for the way you flap your gums. An 11 year old LT1 sure doesn't impress me much. Maybe it's time for a new car...or can't you afford one? Now let's hear how you make a half million bucks a year. Then explain why you can only afford an LT1.
