Default 383 C.R. and Injector size Question.

Building a forged 383, that will mostly be a driver. I will probably take it to the drags a couple of times and to track days. Going to be running nitrous occasionally.
Did the math today and CC'd everything and with a .040 head gasket I will end up with a 11.5 compression ratio, will this be alright with a street driven pump gas car? Will there be troubles with detonation?
Also I have some 30lb Ford SVO injectors here, will they be enough injector or should I sell them and go bigger to be safe?

It's hard to say without knowing your cam specifications, but most likely you'll be just fine. I'd be concerned about those 30# SVOs though. Depending on your combo, they may be too small.

Static compression by itself doesn't determine probability of detonation. That's the job of the dynamic compression ratio which incorporates camshaft valve events paralleled with static compression dimensions.

For what it's worth, I'm running 12.6:1 static, 9.6:1 dynamic on 93 octane with 0 KR.

Have not picked a cam yet, once I am happy with everything I will call Comp Cams and get a custom grind. That's one of the reasons I was posting this up, making sure I could live with 11.5, before calling them.

your compression is okay, I would sell the 30lbers so you have some room to grow. 36's and call it a day.

Once you pick a cam you then can find out what your dynamic compression will be and then you can truly find out if you can run pumpgas. But what heads do you plan on running anyway? That will also determine your injector sizing.

Stock heads ported by a local guy who used to work for Roush but got sick of NC so he moved up here to kind of semi-retire. Numbers on the heads are approx the same as AI 190's. He could've gone further, but I wanted them ported for lower rpm torque numbers for track days, coming out of corners and 0-60 times.
