Default '97 formula wheels on a '94 Trans am

saturday night at the track we tried to swap rims and tires off a '97 formula onto a '94 trans am, and they wouldn't fit snug. (94 had swirly rims, 97 had 5 spokes, both 16's) We were running late to the burnout contest so we where moving fast, but we could NOT get them on snug...the studs on the '94 Trans am seemed a lot shorter than the ones on my '95...did they change offsets, stud lengths, or something in '95 or are they just tricky? thanks

did you grind the inside of the wheel where the center of the axle meets the wheel?

Either grind the center of the axle hub or the inside of the wheel. It's a common problem.

The hubs on the 96+ rear axle assemblies were slightly smaller, and so were the wheel hub openings.

awesome, so if we grind the wheel itself some, they should fit on his '94 as well as my '95 then...correct?

You can grind either the wheel or the hub - doesn't matter.

probably just go with grinding the wheel, so we don't have to grind 2 cars if we decide to throw them on my '95 as well...thanks
