i think THEPARTSPROS is her ex distributor? the one she ended up f*ing also! 1800-579-7046 give them a call! he told me as soon as i get my money back from paypal to give him a call and he would sell me the same 94oem opti for THE SAME PRICE. i would call and make sure it is not a fake first!

I wonder what happened. Didn't they have a 100% positive feedback rating for a long time?
I would probably go with Jason Cromer at Sam Taylor Buick/Cadillac in Fort Walton Beach.

Yeah I called on Monday to the distributor for the parts ladi and the guy said that she was way behind on payment so they cut her off. He quoted me the same price for a Delphi Optispark II model($250+10shipping). I almost bought one from her last week(which I obviously would of gotten screwed on). I am still undecided whether I want a GM unit or an MSD. Is it true that the MSD is a better piece now or is it still a POS.

This is something you might try if your feeling lucky. I have done it with success.
IMHO, there are only three parts in a crappy NON OEM opti that will cause problems. The cap, the 360 segment optical wheel and the optical sensor.
Crappy caps are not insulated well enough and sparks can shoot out of it and go to the closest ground or to another trace. The crappy pulse wheel does not have perfectly consistent, clean cut segments cut in the wheel or the wheel is warped and rubbing the sensor and will throw high res codes. The crappy sensor may not be of correct spec and does not shine properly through the 360 segments.
Might consider taking a OEM worn out opti apart and scavenge the wheel and sensor and install them in a new NON OEM opti. The OEM sensor wont go bad unless its corroded at the connector because all it really is, is two pair of LEDs and as we all know, LEDs dont typically burn out. If the pulse wheel installs and runs flat and true and does not rub the sensor in the aftermarket opti, it should work fine being transplanted.
The only opti issues I have ever encountered were mainly with the caps. If the NON OEM cap is too crappy to use, there will be misfires which should be easy to detect. You can spray a light mist of water on the opti while the motor is running to see if you have arcing from the aftermarket cap.
Dissecting the opti is not very difficult and it is possible to build one out of donor parts and a quality cap and save a bundle. Also make sure the seals are in decent shape or seal it up with right stuff.
My two cents.

I agree, however, the bushing that the whole shebang rotates on, can also go bad. That happened to mine, and what happens is the rotor "wobbles" and rubs inside the cap.....

This is the message I got today
We are not Affiliated with Thepartsladi in any way, shape, or form, We drop shipped parts for Thepartsladi for a few years. She bought the parts from us and has been cut off for not paying her bills. We have acquired the listing that she had listed on eBay and are selling them direct to Consumers instead of selling them through another company. We have started our own eBay account!
thanks

damn wish this thread was up last week when i needed my opti, i just dropped a grand on a opti and waterpump with install. I didnt want to put it in cause i heard it was a pain in the ***. I got my opti for 505 from a buddy that got a dealer discount through his body shop. From the dealer it was 850 bucks. Knowing about the parts pros would have saved me a ton of cash.

I personally do not see how anyone can spend $300 plus dollars on a part that does not have a limited lifetime warranty from the vendor OEM or as some call it POS Reman. Well all I know is on my 1997 TA when my OEM opti went out I purchased a REMAN from Autozone a couple years later it started acting up.
As long as I have my receipt I have a lifetime warranty with them just have to spend the time doing the R/R.
There have been plenty of options mentioned for replacement like the MSD, Dynaspark, etc. The OEM parts are starting to become scarce for our 10+ year old vehicle and will be only available as a Reman.

Installed a MSD pro billett 2 years ago. It has just blown with about 4000 miles on it. No leakage from waterpump. The folks who are installing a new one have recommended an OEM Delphi. They have better success with them.
