as said in the thread my Z has a speed limiter set at 107 , everyone says if i get a chip it would take it off, so i'm asking will it? is there anything i can buy that would other than a tune, i don't want to tune it just yet i just want the limiter off... any suggestions?

I have a 1993 z28 a4 and im pretty sure theres know speed limiter on it im pretty sure after sunday night .. does the car have gears or anything?

it has the original gears in it... i cant think of it right now tho.... and its gotta have something on it no z should stop going at 107?

yeaa i cant think of any reason why it would stop at 107? Is the car completly stock?

Speed limiters are based on tire options not engine or model, your car didn't get Z rated tires from the factory. Chances are, I bet your car also had 2.73 gears.

You beat me to it. If the car has Z rated tires you probably didn't have the speed limiter that low. Without it I think they were limited to something like 110 (or 107 in your case lol). Correct me if I am wrong.

Cars that did not come with the z rated tires had a speed limiter on them around 107 mph. In addition to this the speedometer only went up to 110 mph. The cars that came with z rated tires did NOT have a speed limiter and they also came with a 150 mph speedometer. You can get rid of this in your tune.

not all of them with the limiter had 110mph speedometers. i would wait until you do some bolt ons and actually need to go above 107 (in the 1/4) before spending money on removing it. then you can get it tuned for the bolt ons and remove it in the same shot.

my speedo goes to 115 so i guess now i know why... but do u think a performance chip would do it? cause i'm just starting off small,, now i'm saving up for headers and exhaust, anyone have any suggestions on what i should get for that?

also sometimes my brakes wont work, my pedal wont move when pushed on and at the info place it says low trac, anyone have an idea whats causing it, (it does this on dry roads and has new tires on it)
