She's Gettin a Little Old...
So my 96 TA has about 160xxx miles on her and I'm going through and replacing all, that if failed, would leave me stranded. Its my DD and I need it to last me another year or two.
I'm replacing the fuel pump, fuel filter, coil and ICM. What other common mechanical failures would cause my mode of transportation to no longer serve its purpose? If some one says a flat tire you automatically lose credibility points!! Thanks for the input!!

Things I would change on a high mileage LT1:
fuel pump
fuel filter
fuel pressure regulator
opti
plugs
wires
coil
icm
water pump
thermostat
hoses
radiator flush
front o2 sensors
clean the MAF
PCV
PCV hose
EGR
trans fluid
diff fluid
brake fluid
clutch fluid
Seafoam the car
You could even have a spare alternator and a spare starter in the garage, just to be safe, lol.
All that might be overkill though.

Thanks, that gives me something to do for the next few months. It's has a lot of miles on it, but has only had mobile1, changed religiously, in it. So I think she has many more miles left on her. Where should I go for a fuel pressure regulator? I looked into Orielly's and Advance and didn't see one, maybe i missed something.

Hey:
A good list so far but I have 4 lt1 cars with 5 drivers in the house, with more than 600,000 combined with 285,000 on my daily driver z28, and would drive it to Cali today if need be with no worries. Also change to a vented opti cap and rotor, change it around every 120,000 and you get more life out of it for 94 and older cars. Hoses/belts every 50-70,000, unless you have the green or blue Goodyear hoses, then double that at min. the drivers side seat will wear out, so get good covers. front ball joints will go soon, so will drive shaft u joints. Motor and tranny mounts just change to poly, and get used to the stiffness. But the best advice is to get an electric water pump, the ease of changing when it goes out is enough of a benny to me. Also add subframe connectors if you haven't as it keeps the car much tighter when you have a chance, and gets rid of many squeeks, daily drivers get as age catches them.
