Default Who has pacesetter headers with y-pipe?

Question on these things...

installing them on someones car.....

1.steering shaft is hitting like a MF. poly mounts and umi k-member

2. y-pipe is hitting floor where it is notched on the drivers side for the chassis

3. collector is hitting on passengers side on the floor pan

Anyone else have these issues?

Have installed pacesetters like these before but always with TD never had these issues until now

I have them you are having alot more problems than i did mine clears the steering shaft pretty well and no rubbing of the collectors, but my y-pipe does hit the body where it is notched and makes some noise

for the steering shaft i grounded it down a lil bit.
as for it hitting the floor i needed to heat each header tube up and then bend them down away from the floor.

Yep that always happens they suck, but you will have to bang the floorboards upward where the y pipe meets. ALso you may have to notch the headers to clear the areas where they are close.

Mine clears steering shaft, but cuts it close on passenger side header/collector area. I will have to take a close look as I have not ran car yet. I am running poly mounts with UMI k member also. I will have to snap some pics if I get a chance.

my steering shaft was horrible with these headers, had to dent one of the primaries just a bit, and did a little adjusting with the 3 bolts on the firewall, inside underneath the dash/steering wheel. there's a good bit of play to it and i was able to squeeze a 1/4 inch of movement out of it.

as for the floor board vs pipe... get a hammer, a big one, and go to town.

lmk how this exhaust seals, my y pipe has been a constant pain in the *** leak after leak. but the headers were spot on.

yeah tyhe **** leaks like a MF too.

denting **** up ansd beating the floor is not an option at all....is not my car and it is a 30k mile car orig owner etc. he isnt going to go for beating it up with a hammer.

I will figure something out, what apain in the dick

I had no problems whatsoever. Had to remove a lot of heat shields though.

My pacesetter headers and y-pipe fit perfect. Slipped right in, nothing rubbed or hit. I have Spohn poly motor mounts. And they tuck up nice, I'm slammed and still have decent ground clearance.

Maybe its just a shitt batch. Even with a k member you should have no problems like hitting the frame or even the steering shaft. But I havent installed those headers on any car since 08. So they could be makin shitty batches now.

Yeah, I'm running Pacesetter shorties too, and no problems here bolting up. Now, I can't change my plugs without removing the headers, and they come loose on the left side about once a year, but on the upside, I'm lowered 1.5" and I've got little issues with clearance.

you can shim the mount for the tranny, dropping the tail down just a bit and it makes for better clearance up front.

also, i would suggest getting a set of wide band clamps for the Y pipe as it's bound to leak.

That seems like it would throw off the DS angle. For most cars it won't matter much. But for hi-po hard launching cars, that -2* pinion angle (or whatever you choose to use) is important.
