Default Getting my Magnaflow tomorrow.... =)

Well im waking up extra early and getting my Magnaflow cat back installed at a local shop here in H-Town. They are charging my $360 for the exhaust and installation which is a hell of a deal, and 450 for custom tips. What do you guys think I should do leave the single tip magnaflows on there for get some custom dual tips. btw how big are the original maganaflow tips 3.6?

5 x 8 x 18 in. Muffler, 3 in. Tubing, Rear Exit, 3.5 in. Tip.

45* slash tips look fat as ****, IMO. Have 3.5" Hedman Big Wazoo tips on my duals. You'll like the look of single slash tips. 3.5" is perfect...

Sorry worded wrong its 360 to get just the whole exhaust system put in, but if I want custom tips then the price is up to 450 which that's about how much it would cost me to order the magnaflow in the first place, so about 90 bucks for custom tips ehhh not bad. It's a birthday present to myself tomorrow

thanks for the input Gojira94 just took a look at some pics with those on and more than likely that's what I will go with. I just wish I had a bumper that I can do the CETA mod to

Well just got back from the shop, but I guess the guy that answered the phone when I called the other time was new because I told him I want the whole cat-back exhaust system. Instead he quoted me for the muffler plus tips etc...
Long story short it was an honest mistake on there part, but I got my stuff ordered and will be getting put on saturday the 5th (girl squeal insert). 600 bucks for everything plus some 3.5 inch tips with a 45* slash tip as stated above.

I got my catback installed for $55.

lol.

Had no connections, and they actually did a great job welding, other than welding the hangers directly to the frame instead of using the pre-existing locations lol.

I think I paid about $180 for a Blowmaster on my old V6 a couple of years ago and they did a decent job at a well known muffler shop around here.

Went back with my Z28 to the same shop to get cats + catback and they quoted me $180 which I thought was fair with me just calling and explaining PERFECTLY. Showed up and they started mocking it up and said AT LEAST $360. They wanted $60+ just to weld in each cat, takes them 10 goddamn minutes. I was pissed, and left. Will never go back there again, total rip off.

I got a muffler + homemade turndown + cats installed for like $80?
That was just at some "muffler shop" behind someones house in the country.
He did everything without my help, had a lift and the whole she-bang (or whatever) in about an hour.

I've also had a guy (not a muffler shop chain) build me a set of kick *** true duals under the axle, turndowns, cats, and mufflers for like $400.

I would never pay more than $250 now for a whole catback install, I could do everything myself except weld, so I will watch and tell them exactly how I want it, make sure it tucks up real nice, and if the tips aren't straight I refuse to pay and make them put it back up.

Just look around at the smaller muffler shops, most of these guys have done it 10,000 times so quality isn't really an issue.

If you think you're getting a deal go ahead, but I would look around.
If I ever got quoted for $450 or $600 for what you want I would have just walked away.
UNLESS it was a sweet *** true dual over the axle build.
