My purchase 95 383 LT1 T/A, 406 RWP for $3100? Killer deal or crap? Video inside
Well guys I finally got the car and some pics and video of it. It seems to be running good. I have adjusted the valves, fixed the low oil and coolant sensor, couple of new gaskets, fresh oil, and fixed both headlight motors so far.
I paid $3100 for this car. I think I got a good deal on it. The heads and intake were advertised as Lt-4 but after inspection, only the intake is LT-4. I ran the numbers. The engine is pretty much all out built, LT's, true dual exhaust with H-pipe and bullets, full 1.6 rollers. It doesnt have an EWP though or underdrive pulleys. The 6 speed shifts great, feels like an aftermarket clutch is in it. Its faster than my hotcammed T/A. It needs some bodywork (my specialty) and some odds and ends.
Anyways, let me know what you guys think.
Heres a video with pics of the dyno run graph - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ood_Z9cht1A

As far as the heads, I checked them about 3 times. I did read that the LT4 intake will not fit LT1 heads w/o major work. The # on the inside of the head is 10207643 so thay are the 643 heads.
The intake is numbered 17095149.
I have the guys # who supposedly built the engine. I just havent called him yet.
Oh yeah and the car was dyno tuned also for $300. I found a receipt for $1300 for dyno tune, dyno run, fuel pump, header gaskets, and some other things lol.

Title should be changed to "Braggin about my awesome deal"
I might as well brag to. I bought my car for 2300 with a low mileage rebuilt motor, hotcam, and most bolt ons. I need to fix an oil leak, fix the oil pickup and get a tune. Car also needs the spoiler repainted.

It does have its cons though. For one, I dont know the specs on alot of the engine parts and 2, its too damn low to the ground for me. I cant even get a jack under it w/o jumping through hoops. Im going to raise it back up one day because the LT's scrape pretty much everything. It sucks.
Scraping headers=nails on a chalkboard to me.

I wasnt trying to be a smartass if I came off like that. I posted a similar thing on here when I bought my last camaro for 1300. I get the same feeling when I first get a car and want to tell everybody. I shouldve put an lol after my quotations but we all know how trying to joke on the internet very rarely works.
I bought my car with a "bad transmission" that ended up being a TPS sensor. I feel kinda bad for the poor kid I bought it from. He should have got it scanned.

how many miles are on the motor? that will determine whether or not it was a good deal. if the motor has more than 40k on it, since it is a high performance motor, i wouldnt expect it to last much past 50 or 60,000. But if it has low miles, then uh yeah, its a steal. I paid $10,000 just for everything for my motor..

Said it was built almost 30,000 miles ago. I think it will last a while especially considering I would be lucky to put 2,000 miles on it in a year. I see no reason for it to fail any earlier than a regular engine. I have 7 cars, 4 of which are toys and I take care of them. Anyone recognize that cam?
