LM1 vs. LM2 bullet muffler
Anyone know how different the SLP LM1 and the SLP LM2 sound? Is the LM2 a better sound since the bullet muffler is a different design? I'm just looking to create a semi custom exhaust with some LM parts(planning to put a LM2 bullet where my cat is and an XR-1 round muffler where it usually goes in a Borlamouth setup, good idea?). Once I do this I'll have a Hooker Aero chamber muffler ready for sale if anyone is intrested. Thanks guys.

having both would def cut down the rasp that both mufflers produce at high rpm by themselfs. the LM2 is considered the quiter of the 2 but imo the design is about the same simply with more baffles and packing to make it quiet.

SLP LM1: It is basically an open hollow can... not much to be said about it.
SLP LM2: As you can see the LM2 contains packing material with a perforated tube just like a dynomax bullet. The only difference is that the LM2 necks down to a 2.5" internal perforated tube which supposedly helps sound suppression.
I have heard both in person and I can say that if you go with the LM1 you may as well run straight pipes because as you can see from the pic it has nothing in it.
The LM2 is basically a stainless steel dynomax bullet. They sound similar.

I had the LM1 and then switched the "bullet" to the Xr1 and loved it other than the little bit of rasp. Thats why I'd want to get the XR1 and a LM2 bullet and run them both.

Yeah I was hoping someone would tell me that. I think doing both the LM2 bullet and the XR1 will work well. Now I just need to find a good used LM2 bullet for sale.

Why do you want to run 2 mufflers? You are going to create two much back pressure. You might as well get a Flowmaster. The LM2 by itself will give you what your looking for.

Well I guess I figured the LM2 alone would still be pretty loud, and the XR1 is only slightly better. Plus I figured the LM2 would not create that much back pressure since it is fairly slim and straight through. Would'nt the LM2 bullet act like a high flow cat?

I got tired of how loud the LM1 was. Now I have Dynomouth on my T/A and it's surprisingly quiet for a bullet muffler. No drone on the freeway.

The way expansion chamber mufflers work is by slowing everything down, the flow, the sound waves...everything. With it slower it also isn't as loud. It also cools the exhaust gases. The slower moving gases will create back pressure in the exhaust system. Add another and it will happen all over again. It's just physics.
You might get the sound you want, but it will also increase back pressure.
