Default gears or spray?

hey guys i cant decide between gears or spray, i was set on gears but have heard that going from 3.23's to 3.73's wont be worth much. But i don't want to spend all the money for spray just to risk blowing a good lt1.

So will the gears be worth much in my bolt on m29 t56 trans am?

How much spray can i run without worrying about flaming death?

If i do go with gears i will just buy some good used gm gears and an install kit with all new bearings. I work at autozone and my boss will do my gears for free. So it's 275 for gears or who knows what for spray.

If your boss knows what hes doing and i mean realllly knows what hes doing then go with gears first. In your case its a minimal investment whereas doing spray the right way can get pretty costly

if you have a m6 why not go 410 gears you will notice a night and day difference! I would do gears first break them in, then look forward to the spray

He has a M29. Going 3.83 is the same as going 4.10 in the M26 due to the gearing difference in the '93 M29.

Why not do both? N20 will make way bigger difference though.

Spray is way more spend, especially considering you'll need a clutch if you plan to hit it with a decent shot

If you're going to do gears I would save up and get an entire rear all at once instead of invest in the 10-bolt. This would be a wiser decision if you have higher power goals. Spray will end up costing you more in the long run b/c of the refills, safety equip, new clutch, better ignition components, etc...

ok i shouldent have asked about spray lol. I have the m29, not the m28, so the 3.73's will be what i'm gunna run. just wanted to make sure they are worth the 275 i'll have to shell out. I still want to do spray, but kinda have made up my mind that gears are where the line is being drawn right now because i know i'll have to get a clutch, dr's etc.

So here is the question.

Will i feel a good gain from 3.23's to 3.73's?

i really feel that it'll help alot off the line wich is where i need it, 2nd and 3rd pull strong, and maby 4th could use a little help too. I dont see this car going too much further. I still want a cam and spray with supporting mods, but dont think i'll get into the heads or block as much as i wish i could, and if i do it wont be for quite a while as my wife is prego lol, funny how that changes things lol.

are you running a cut-out or straight pipes? I wasnt sure cause i dont see it in your sig. If not then maybe a cut-out could also be a consideration. I know you only asked gears or spray but i figured i would put my 2 cents in.
