Well i went down to Maple Grove to get a couple runs in for base line numbers. Figured id see what it does now before i get started doing major work to it. Car is Auto with 178,xxx. CAI, Aluminum elbow, Walbro 255
R/t .283
60' 2.192
330' 6.206
1/8 9.417
1000' 12.159
1/4 14.492
MPH 96.65
This was my best run out of 3 they were all pretty close. Worst was 14.530 n that was my fault for sleeping off the line. But considering my horrible rt it didn't run to bad for almost 200,000 on the engine. Car is full weight with a full tank of gas i am 210lbs.
Ok well here are my new numbers after LT ORY & mail order tune. Was surprised at the huge difference. I had 1 run at 13.65 but the slip blew out the damn window on the way home so i don't have the info for that run.
R/t .086
60' 2.015
330 5.766
1/8 8.831
mph 80.52
1000' 11.40
1/4 13.738
mph 99.83

Those are pretty solid times for what little you've got done to the car. Not bad for having a million miles on the clock, either.
Time for 3.73's and long tubes!

well i dont know how much track times mean to you but if you went with 1/4 gas in the tank, drop the front sway bar, seats, spare & Jack, mats, etc. things should be better.
If you do all the above and drop the pressure in your tires down to 24psi should net you .2-.3 off your pass.
I would add a cutout & drag radials, those with the weight loss should get you into the high 13's @ 100mph.
goodluck

Just a little FYI my brotha...your poor reaction time has absolutely nothing to do with how fast the car runs. The et clocks don't start until your car leaves (breaks the beams). So you could sit there for two days and still run another 14.4x.

Some good advice (mentioned above) on lowering your times would be to go to the track with 1/4 tank of gas vs a full tank, removing the spare tire and jack, among other things.
I have to say that, IMO, dropping the tire pressure won't help, with your motor being stock. Now if you were making decent power and had trouble spinning off the line, then yeah, drop the psi gradually until they don't spin anymore and you should be good to go. A stock LT1 with no upgrades and even a marginally prepped track should hardly never spin the tires, if your tires are worth anything at all.
So try those few things and go have fun! Good luck.

Well thanks for all the suggestions. I am not really trying to get this car into the 9's or anything, just have a really fun and quick dd. Running it in the 1/4 is just to satisfy my curiosity and see what i gain as i put different things on. Next is long tubes. Would like to get a le2 setup on there, but that will probably have to wait till tax return time. Then ill start building a short block to finish off the engine.

Not good. Gas mileage was about 15 to 18 or so. Friday i got two new O2's to put on i.I was going to take it up to NY for the 4th, so i figured the better mileage would help recover the cost of the sensors. What i wasn't anticipating was the damn threads in the manifold to come out with the old sensor. Had no time to fix it so it is just sitting in the driveway for now. Payday ill get a set of long tubes to put on it. What is the cheapest option for emissions legal lt headers? Well with air & egr, not worried about the cats at all.

I used to have a 1995 Formula A4 2.73 gears that I bought brand new. I took it to the track when it was completely stock, right down to the 235-55r-16 Goodyears! The car turned a 14.4 @95mph. I bought the Hypertech power programmer and used the higher performance tune (for use with high octane fuel), turned the fans on earlier, firmed up the shifts and adjusted the shift points, raised the rev-limiter, removed the top speed limiter and the car went 14.2@97mph. I then installed the K&N Cold Air Induction kit, which replaced the entire air box and intake ducting to the throttle body. That was the best improvement. I dropped down to 13.9@100mph...I couldn't believe it! That car was a pretty good runner for having 2.73 gears.

Its more amazing that nobody recommends changing the gears on these cars asap, I see it all on the time on stang forums, (change the gear, change the gears) on fbodie forums gears are like an after thought.
First thing everybody usually says is cam/heads package, lol. How about we make sure were getting the most out of power were making first, lol.
