Default What type of coolant?

Im doing an opti swap in my 95 T/A, and when i drained the coolant it was an orangish red color. Anyone tell me what kind of coolant I need and how much it holds? I only ever used the regular green coolant on any other car but id rather do it right for this one and i never saw this kind of coolant before. Thanks

LT1 coolant capacities for the 4th gen F-body:

With Manual Transmission - 15.3 quarts (14.5 L)

With Automatic Transmission - 15.1 quarts (14.3 L)

If you completely flush it out, you can use whatever you want.

The orange coolant is GM Dexcool. This is what i use in my car. From what i have heard it had something to due with the fact of it being less corrosive to aluminum but i could be wrong.

Where can I buy dexcool? Do they sell it at autoparts store or is it a dealership deal?

dude, seriously...Its a FACT: YOU dont HAVE to use Dexcool a this point, hell In my experimentations I used AutoZone 50/50 green, water and a bottle of "water wetter" and car ran cooler...If that interests you

Dexcool in mine. Some people trash it but Ive never had any trouble with it flushing it once a year. IF. . . . you do decide to go with the green, MAKE SURE you get all of the dexcool out. Flush it multiple times. You dont wanna mix the stuff!
