Shift points to rev limiter question
What rule of thumb is there for the rev limiter on/off fuel setting over the shift point setting? I dont wanna hit the limiter between shifts and was curious how much higher I should set it.

A4 or M6? Whats done to your car?
I normally set mine way high for an A4, if it goes that high something is seriously wrong with the trans anyway and I don't exactly like the idea of the PCM pulling fuel to limit rpm.
If its an M6 you don't want it to rev high enough to do any damage, I'd say at least 200 rpm over where you plan on shifting though.

Shift rpm should definitely be a couple hundred rpm lower then where you actually want it to shift simply bc it takes a second for the trans to shift after its commanded. You need a window of a couple hundred rpm before it hits the rev limiter. So say you want it to shift at 6200. You may need to command the shift (especially on a modded car) at 6k or 6100, then give it to 6400 before you hit limiter. So basically you are guaranteed to be shifting between 6100-6300. Kinda like your target area.
