Default Hard to start why?

My car has sat for about 2 years. Now it has trouble starting I just got the tune, headers, and better fuel pump. It has brand new plugs and wires, had the battery checked yesterday and they said that was good.

What do you guys think it could be? It cranks over just fine just doesn't start unless I play with gas pedal. Rite now it's still open headers.

Give us more info, man... Did you have fuel in the car sitting for two years? If so, that could be a major problem.

Does it turn over OK?

Might want to check the fuel pump. When it's about to crap out, it will take a while for it to build up pressure at the engine. You can turn the key to the "ON" position, and listen if the pump fires up.

Leaky injector or fuel pressure regulator can cause that. Go to shbox.com and use the procedure for checking the fuel system for leaks. Make sure your gas is good, fuel filter is clean, and fuel pump is priming. Switch to the on position without cranking, wait 5 seconds, switch back off, repeat 2 more times, the try to crank. If it fires right up, it is likely you are bleeding off pressure somewhere after it shuts off.

is your gas sit for 2 year ? it could be bad gas cause by your gas cap is leaking, or just old gas, next time before you storage your car, put in a chevron or redline or amsoil complete fuel system cleaner, it keep your gas good for next time you start.

It's brand new gas that was changed when the new fuel pump went in. New fuel filter at the same time. All the mods were done at the same time should I have it scanned for codes?

It started to not start up right away after headers went on at the same time I took 1 screw off of fuel rail to polish em could that have caused a problem
