It's been a little over 5 years for me and it's not close to being done. Every mod that's been installed on my car will be swapped to a donor fbody(eventually) then I will strip the Z down completely throw it on a rotisserie... repair all the rust, new paint, engine, drivetrain etc. It never ends!

13 years and still a work in progress, it is a never ending project, still a bunch of things I want to do, just don't have the money to do them. Kids, big mortgage and never ending home projects come first, the car is just a fun toy to play with when I get some free time these days.

4 years, and feels like NO progress. Bought the car with blown engine, already had a rebuilt t56, and spec 2+ clutch, and little mods. pulled the engine, built a 383, sent out heads, bought cam. Acquired an ls1, started to swap, acquired a 99 z28 roller, took back off the swap stuff, still couldn't get the heads finished, sold the stroker, sold the cam setup, went to a different cam, and hand ported heads that came with the car, put together a stock shortblock, put it all together, fought a coolant leak, fixed it, fought a miss, replaced bad opti, replaced secondary again, drove 650 miles, engine lost oil pressure, tore apart, found out machinist messed up, machinist won't do anything, found a new machine shop, new engine being built. however, for 650-700 miles i enjoyed the hell out of it. and layed the smack down on some solid 12 sec. cars, not shabby for a mix matched combo.

Ive had my car for a year and a half now, and im still in the deciding phase of what i want to do. Im also quite the noob. Ive spent most of that year and a half reading on here and other lt forums. I now realize how ignorant i was, I dont know it all, but still I cant wait to tear into it. I dont care how long it takes.

5yrs for me its getting close still want to build that big stroker motor setup. As of now its a h/c/i 355 full boltons tubular suspension, 12bolt. It really never ends tho I remember I wanted to cam only with spray and it just kept going from there. Havnt really thought about looks much but I have picked up a ramair hood recently and thnkn about having it resprayed.

Theres so many things i want to do to my car from a n/a 454 setup to a turboed 408 setup to an f1, all the possibilities just get me excited thinking about them but i think id need at least 5 differnt f bodies in differnt years and colors just for me to be content with the way my cars look lol. So the answer would probally be never.

I'd love to put the body on a rotisserie and get it stripped and painted again. Can't justify spending that kind of coin...yet

In my opinion you will never be done as long as you own the car.
