I am really enjoying my car. I've had it for 2 years and 3 months and I only have full exhaust and a cai for power mods. The exterior is pretty much done, wheels will always change though. Needs a full paint/ding job.

However, this car mods have been paid 90% cash, which means I have enjoyed it more because I've worked hard for it, and it's coming together slowly. This way I get to enjoy each stage longer and no debt to stress over.

My old car (Acura Integra) was the complete opposite. I really enjoyed it but I got into so much debt over it, and I stressed over it being stolen 24/7. I still have the debt, which I really regret.

I'm finally going to be making the income to support that spending, so I'll be able to pay that **** off.

Bought my Camaro in 2004 and I've slowly tweaked it. I could be alot farther along if I kept my LT1 instead of getting the G8, but I love the G8. Progress always seems to go faster in the beginning when you're doing less expensive bolt-ons. Once you go inside the motor and have to get it tuned all the time, etc, it takes longer because it gets more expensive.

you know... your not done till the fat lady sings ha but seriously, if the bond between the builder and the car is strong, then even when you have done everything that you wanted to do to it, theres always going to be somting else thats going to manifest it self into a whole new list of things to do

I bought the car with a dent, drove it around , for 1 yr, put jba headers, switched to msd wires, msd 6al, msd blaster coil. full exhaust, saved up money for 1 yr with the mentality okay I'm gonna spend 4grand on parts I kid u not on my way to PAW performance in Cali I was hit by a drunk driver all that money went into fixing the body and switching the paint. Here it is now

I've only had my car since last septemberish and Ive accomplished all the mods in my sig. I'm no where near done though and i could easily stick way more into this. I'm sure it will be a long while yet until i get closer to where i want to be.

Hey:

Not many I bought it just like I wanted and its been great ever since, posts is there? So where do all these tricked out cars that are for sale on here go, are they all Parted out? It would be great to buy one all done and just change a few things to your tastes, or none at all, and just drive the thing.

I disagree, I'd never buy someone else's car thats already "done". I'd feel like I own someone else pride and joy. sure it would be your car since you bought it. But it really isn't "your's" if that makes sense.

Hey:

Thats what I was going on about, Is where are those guys that buy somebody else done up car at. I never see the local cars after they are sold, I never see them for sale again. They don't come on any of the 5 sites I am on. They don't get on and brag about how they got a fast car for cheap, and run 10s all day.
You just never see or hear about that car again. I would not have originally had this car, as I was going to buy another Vette when it came along. And this car was a fairly new, excellent running stock car back then. So I am glad I got it and done what I have with it over the years. My point was that it would be nice to get a car without having to go through spending all of your own money when you can get a car done close to what you want for a lot less than you can ever do it yourself. I see nothing wrong with that. I just want to know what happens to all those cars afterwards, as I never see them again, so I wonder if they all get parted out, or what.

My biggest problem with buying an already modded car is that you have the potential to interherit somebody's mistakes. You can get a good buy if they did it right, but sadly most people don't roll that way

Hey:

marc97taws6 < your car is a good example of what I am referring too, It is a Very Good base model to start with (WS6 TA), Very Good quality after market Upgrade parts(UMI,Yank, Performabuilt, and a complete stainless exhaust system), a very fair and good starting price 5k, and only needs minor things done to be a great car. I mean how can you go wrong for that kind of money. There is people paying that kind of cash for stock cars to build up like yours. It makes no sense to me. Probably if you put your car back to stock it may sell for the same amount, and then that same person would buy your after market parts to mod the way he wants it.(Maybe exactly the way you had it, but he did it.) I have seen things go on like this, and it drives me to wonder about them.
Just something to think about.

i just started on the car modding it about a month ago and i have owned it since June 2004. im still not sure which direction i want to take the car. right now im just doing some basic stuff.

i would like a high 11s to mid 12s and ill be happy with it. i just dont know what combo i want to use to get there becuase i want to keep the car very mild on the street and i love a lot of low end trq becuase it makes for fun street driving.

It is not even close to the way I want it. It's fun to have a long term project though. I'm always tinkering with something and an F-body is great for that. A Corvette is in the near future plans, but I don't see myself making the same kinds of mods and its MUCH cheaper to mod an F-body.
