Default Is my optispark bad?

Ok I am new to lt1 cars, I have a 96 t/a and I washed the engine compartment the other day and since then the car misses badly and shakes. It throws a random misfire code as well. I put new plugs and wires on it today, but no luck. The optispark is only a year old but could it be bad? Just curious before I spend $370 on one. Thanks everyone for any help.

Washed your engine bay = ruined your opti.

Oh man, Well I can't say much I did it too when new to lt1's. Man just let it dry out for a couple days. You may have just gotten the cap wet

I would wait it out for a little bit... see if it dries out.

I had a sick feeling that I might have damaged the opti. I just didn't think they were that sensitive. I guess I'll be ordering one today.

They don't like any water. If you seal them up they can take a lot more abuse.

im curious, i've had my lt1 for about 2 months now and im new to this too, what about winter driving conditions? how does the opti hold up to the rain? sometimes when there's a downpour our city's drainage system can't quite keep up with it.

Try not to floor it thru deep puddles, if you go slow you shouldn't have a problem.
