this is a really stupid question. when you pulled the plug to check the spark did you just hold it and crank the engine? or did you ground the plug? if you dont ground it when you check it will have no spark.

I bet its the ICM.....I just don't see the opti loosing fire completely..

I have seem them mis fire and spit and sputter or run very badly and seen them not start but rare for them to COMPLETELY loose fire all together....I would start at the ICM for sure

If you have an extra coil around try swapping it in too, especially if you have an MSD coil in the car.

i fixed some grounds and fucked with the distributor pigtail and icm harness and it started working.. finally lol although also my optima battery took a **** lol

Better find out if there's a short in one of those harnesses. Anyway, another thread where the opti takes a beating and it wasn't at fault. At least it works.

Truth. And honestly an Opti's internals are very simple, the only time I've seen them fail, was due to physical damage like: water/oil intrusion, harness plug short and water intrusion, broken pins/clips.
