555r's are actually pretty good on the road course since they still have a real sidewall.

I noticed when I got my 555r's (along with several of my friends) they don't hook up well until you get them really broke in...at first I could spin mine at about 3/4 throttle...after a few 6-7 second burnouts they are sticky as hell...can't even kick it sideways anymore on dry pavement

These don't rub as bad as other 315's, because the tire is a little narrower than most 315's

They hook great for bolt on and mildly modded cars...for those running low 12's-high 11's thats where they start to slip, otherwise outstanding tire for the money.

Step up would be NT05's, then NT05R's in Nitto's lineup...hope this helps
Not true, as Nittos run more narrow then BFG's or Hoosier's and look better/fit better on a 10.5" rim. Most guys that go with the 11" rims like the TTII's vs. my TTM's tend to lean toward the BFG drag radials. The Nitto's are an awesome tire and I love mine, but they do look smaller on an 11" rim.

Looks great Rob!! They fit on my stock rims perfect with 0 mods to get them in there. I also think they are by far the best "All Around" DR. Hell Ive drivin in the snow with them just fine, they handle great and they hook pretty damn good at the track. Not the Best DR at the track but 1000000000x better than any street tire.

AChotrod, you are one brave man puttin' those on snow

My car never sees any foul weather these days and about a year ago I got caught in a freak rain storm on my way home and could barely keep these Nittos on the road. Car turned sideways on me at least 8 times in 5 miles. Personally, I don't ever wanna use these in the rain or snow (that we never see) again.

agreed. I have cut so many 1.6x on a 275/40/17 555R its ridiculous. They are very capable tires. Mine still look new as well
