I am working on an 8.8 build for my SS....but I have a question.

Anyone know where I can find info on what cars had what rear ends, etc??

I am looking at an 85 and 89 Lincoln Town Car for an 8.8. All I am using is the pumpkin...I am cutting the tubes and using my 10-bolt tubes. I am going with a 31-Spline Posi carrier, moser GM axles, LS1 Rear Brakes, and 4.10 gears and I am deleting my ABS so no need to worry about that...

Would the Lincoln Rear work?? Input?

 

Try posting in the rear section for a better answer. But from my understanding an 8.8 is an 8.8. Might want to look an a Ranger 8.8, I believe some came with 4.10s, may save you some money on buying a new centersection

 

I already have a carrier sitting in my room that I inherited lol. So not to worried as long as I get a good 8.8 lol. Thanks for the input man!

the 8.8's out of cars are going to have the upper control arm mounts on it which will probably get in your way..

8.8's out of trucks or explorers will not have the upper control arm mounts.

 

Can those tabs be removed without harm to the pumpkin?
