I've had a 3k and a 3200. Both are too small.

If I did it over I'd have gone 3600 from STOCK.

Luckily that's not a big concern for me anymore, and when my 496 gets finished it will probably get 6 mpg at speed.

I'm just presenting all the facts so he can make a informed decision on what to do with his car. From my experience, it was a mistake to do a big converter in a LT1 car without a cam to match.
I don't understand where you're getting mileage being "cut in half".

These are LOCK-UP torque converters, your gas mileage isn't effected much at all. I could see if you're running a th400 or something with no lock up, but to me, saying your gas mileage will be cut in half with a higher stall converter is simply misinformation.

+1 for Yank/Circle D/Vigilante 3600.

Im personally going with the yank ss3600 after quite a bit of research and comparison for my bolt on car.

you really need to pick the cam first & then pick out the stall, you dont want 2 put 2 much stall in it exspecialy if your goin 2 be driving it daily. you want your stall 300 more rpm then your cam

Having one built by "the shop" won't be the same as a Yank or Vig. that is recommened.
