1) SES ("Service Engine Soon") light ever come on when it does it?

2) Does it matter where you are on the throttle when it happens or does it stumble at all RPM ranges?

3) Sure you don't have any vacuum or exhaust leaks?

4) You can attach a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail next to the regulator and tape it to the windshield and see if you have a precipitous drop when it "does it." Don't laugh- common troubleshooting tip for diagnosing drivability with these cars.

The more information provided, the more helpful suggestions you'll get. There are a number of very knowlegeable techs on this forum that are glad to help. I'm still learning, myself. Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like an opti to me. Find out the codes for the ses light is before you throw any more parts at it.

One of my experiences with this was the w/p was leaking onto the opti only when the engine was hot and cooling system was pressurized. Car would run fine until it got anywhere around operating temp and then would start to hesitate.

94 car, the only way is to scan it. Autozone will only be able to do 96 & up (OBD2). Got a mechanic friend with a good scanner? Buy him a 6 pack of his favorite. It literally takes under a minute to pull the codes. Here's a guide for OBD1 F-Body codes for 94-95:

you can take a paperclip and jump the top two slots on the top right.
turn the key on and the service light will flash 12 times to let you know your in the computer. then it will flash for codes just do a little research and you'll get it.

You need to jump the connector then turn the key to the on position and wait for the flash sequence.

Paperclip trick (code 12, followed by stored codes, then code 12) works on the 93s. 1994 & up you MUST use an OBD1 scanner.

Edit:
BTW, code 12 is signified by one long, two short flashes. Long for tens place, short for ones place. Code 12 lets you know the ECM is in a ready state. Last code 12 is to signify end of stores codes. in 1994 the socketed PROM ("Programmable Read Only Memory" or "Chip") was replaced by the PCM ("Powertrain Control Module"). No more removable chip, no more paperclip... still great for 3rd gen cars and lots of other older GM vehicles, though.
