Default Lets see some aftermarket 4l60e shifter with stock consoles

I am looking at doing some sort of aftermarket shifter... show me what you have. I do not want to cut up my center console either.

Whats wrong with the stock shifter, you dont manually shift these trannys. Why the added expense?

Wow... I never knew an automatic shifted on its own!! That's amazing. 2 points for captain obvious right here.

For those who ACTUALLY have some technical information that will aid me in what I am trying to do... I would like to put some sort of ratchet shifter in the car for the rare occasion that I might roll race. I obviously have a large converter in the car so when I go from a roll it needs to be in 1st for a 20 or 2nd for a 40, not just D or OD. The lazy converter make leaving from a roll a PITA unless you are around 4k rpm with my set up. If you have the stock shifter, it is very likely to bump from 1st to OD or N and miss the gear.... thus the end of the race and possible damage to the transmission.

Hey captain obvious, you do know that the internals of any automatic will turn 2-3x the rpm of your motor if you go to neutral under load. So say I bump it to N at 7k... do you think almost 20k rpm is good for the clutch packs?

It may be an "added" expense to you, but it's insurance to me.

The drag racing section has a ton of pics. Im going TH350 soon and went with a B&M pro ratchet stealth. Ive seen them look great in A4 and M6 consoles.

Thank you AC! I searched the Automatic section and it came up pretty dry. I will give it a try over there. I actually plan to go with a th400 one day... I will beat on this built 4l60e until then.

I am sorry if you took my post wrong,i really did not see any harm in it!
Did not see the need for an aftermarket shifter unless it was a glide,350 or 400.

Matt you do know you can convert your stock shifter to work also. Talk to Ray @ the Nitrous Outlet, I believe he has done it.

Well then I apologize for the rude accusations. You know how it is with some of the brainless LT1 owners in this section. My bad!

You must not be familiar with large converters.

I've seen one or two cars here with an aftermarket shifter..not too many pics around. Try a google search and see what comes up for ya.

My question to ya just for ***** n grins is how hard is the car leaving from a 40 roll? A friend of mine has a 4400 stall and his car takes forever to get moving from a roll.

It takes forever to get going if I leave at 40mph in OD or D... with the 3.73's 40mph in 2nd puts me around 4200 and it takes off pretty hard. From 20 in 1st is totally different, it gets kinda wild if the QTP's are cold.
