What type of hammer did you use to bash yours in? I used a rawhide type hammer and it did a great job denting smooth and even. I only had to clear 1/8" to 1/4", how much do you think you dented yours in? Also why didnt you grind a little on the steering knuckle since it is pretty thick?
I was using a block of wood at first, but then frustration set it. I really should have done a better job but from the top they look awesome. I really hate changing or altering things that have to do with the steering. I feel they were made that thick for a reason and I don't want to change that. I have seen first hand what can happen when you start messing with things like that. I only really had to clear it 1/4 inch or so just hitting it with a metal hammer after getting pissed of didn't help any.
