I got one from EFI Connections, I dont remember the exact link they had for it (its not the same as there efi connections home page and I dont think its listed) But you could just send Mike or someone over there a quick message and they can hook you up. I think it was about 35 bucks and there stuff is top notch.

Also, as far as the MSD cap and rotor. We've had people compare the MSD units to our cap and rotors and people have kept ours at a fraction of the price of MSD.

Just a quick thought, you may want to try and clean off the MAF, a random non-missing stall at idle is an indication of this. Plus its really easy and cheap to clean the MAF quickly with MAF cleaner, maybe $6 at autozone. Worth a try IMO as i catch myself having to do this every couple of months.

You need to do the cap and rotor every 40,000 miles. The entire opti unit should be replaced every 80,000 miles to be safe. Some last over 200,000 miles, but age and corrosion become factors. It's not such a big deal. Changing timing belts on 4cyl cars is usually worse.

Get the icm tested to be sure. That's free and very easy to remove. Mine was doing the same thing yours is a while back until it just died one day going down the road. I was thinking opti but turned out it was the icm. Aka ignition control module.
Before you ask it's on the front of the drivers side head connected to the coil.

They aren't even worth the effort looking for them.
They have been getting good reviews, but there's still something that bothers me about a $90 optispark.
93-94 optisparks are unvented, 95+ are vented. Vented optisparks have two vacuum lines going to them. Unvented optis have a spline drive, while vented optis are pin-driven.

30,000 miles has been the service interval for every distributor since the HEI came out in 1973. Any contact distributor is the same. I stretch it to 40,000 miles because I can. And I'm cheap.
