Mines doing something similar, I just replaced the plugs and wires, the fuel filter, the pump tool a dump, checked with a gauge, and it still has a miss, pulled one of the plug wires and tested the spark, it was yellow. I took off the coil, and tested it, it was about twice the resitance, replaced it and no change, so tomorrow I'm taking it to a mechanic to dignose it, I'm stumped and need the car yesterday, I really don't know what else it could be.

If the check engine light comes on, there pretty much has to be a code registered. Are you retrieving codes soon after the light comes on? Some codes will go away after a predetermined number of key cycles that the trouble is not detected.
Any time the opti is suspected, the harness should be checked, too.
