i personally love the sound and the throttle response of the LT1, i tap the gas and it shoots to 3500 rpm. the underdog factor rocks too.

As with any other cars there are a LOT of badly done LS cars out there, I have taken a few sprayed LS cars on the track, I wont claim the LT is superior, I will just say the LS owners were fairly clueless and did things poorly.
One time when my wife was racing my car(years ago) I ended up sitting in the stands next to the friends of thedriver in the late model GTO my wife waxed, those guys were floored by a Caprice doing that, was a clocks off day and they were guessing at the ET I told them it was about 12.3-12.4. They said "how do you know" I said "my car", imagine how much more shocked they were to find out my wife was at the wheel.

Most LS drivers I run into are thoroughly impressed by my car even the ones that are faster.

Most people have too much money invested in their lt1 to start from scratch on an lsx. I would much rather have a h/c 346 ls1 than a 383 lt1 if my motor ever decides to go, but starting from scratch would cost a significant amount of $$.

I have thought about a change but at this point in my life 4 door is no longer a wish but a necessity. If I had the coin a CTS-V or the upcoming wagon version would be in the driveway but I am too poor for that.

Oh and it is somehow rewarding to beat up on "faster" cars at the track. Nobody expects what this pig does.
About the 45 second mark someone in the stands guesses my 60foot time at "about half an hour" not realizing he was talking to a friend of mine.

i keep it becuase the junk yard wont give me any thing for it lol.

On a serious note. I keep mine becuase it my baby. I bought the car years ago and its the first car i bought and paid for my self and a close friend who helped me pick out the car that is no longer around.

I could careless if an ls1 is faster then me never even crosses my mind to compare it to an ls1. I dont care if im an underdog or not. Don't care how fast it ever goes as long as i have fun working on it.

I keep mine cause I love being the under dog. No1 ever pays attention to lt1s. Plus there not very many bolt-on ls1 cars running my times around my area.

Believe what you want but it does. Guess it depends on the total package

So what are your mods and how much power does your car make?

On the normal Day to day I take my LT1 over my LSx. I don't drive either car daily but to run to the store I love the LT1. My LSx is a hand full!

I'm so tired of the LT1 vs LS1 threads! Yeah a modded LT1 can keep up with a light mod LS1 but once the LS1 is mod for mod the LS1 is a far better engine.

Honestly, I love my LT1 TA looks over my LS1. I bought the LS1 TA only for the engine platform. We all love them for different reasons.

I just got mine because it was cheap! I paid $1800 for my car, but besides that I do love the rumble of the lt1s, the underdog thing is cool too, and around here its somewhat more rare, I don't see to many LT cars.

I got mine and kept it around because no one has LT1 TAs in so cal where s LS1 TAs are everywhere. And mod for mod there is no way an LT1 is making more than an LS1. I personally know 2 LS1s with full bolt ons that made 370 rwhp. An LT1 will be lucky to make 300 with full bolt ons.

Exactly, most of the LS1's I race dyno higher than me but I own them on the street.

The lsx is awesome, and I love the engine. Lots of advantages there. I just haven't seen enough of an advantage to make me want to switch.

I acquired my car in 2000. Back then LS1s were a novelty and the LT1s were the big thing. I stuck with it because I had the car, the knowledge, and alot of money invested already.

But if I had to do it all over again from scratch, I'd own an LS1 - no doubt.

LS1 camaros look like ****, why spend money swapping an LT1 nose & hood on the car when you could spend that money on go fast parts?
plus when I bought my car LS1's were going for +$5000 more than LT1's..
plus the LT1 sounds better
