Default It's here

Competition Clutch stage 2.5 Kevlar / Cerametallic Full Faced Disk. Rated for 600hp.

Competition Clutch says they MANUFACTURE their own LT1 pressure plates and the fingers have a different fulcrum point than stock for higher clamp load, and that they are also heat treated for strength and higher clamp load.

It looks good, we will see how it performs.

Comes with clutch, pressure plate, TOB, alignment tool, and solid input bushing

That sounds like a great price. Mine needs to be replaced. Do we just need to call them on it

You didnt look hard enough. Give them a call if you need more help finding it.

Just go to products > domestic RWD clutch kits > then scroll down to 93-97 Camaro and it will list the part numbers.

At the top of that page it tells you what the different stages mean, what they're rated at, and what materials are used for each one, etc.

wow that is a damn good price. I had a Zoom Kevlar clutch, got pretty annoying in stop and go traffic, but i'm not sure if you plan on daily driving your car or not.

Will do. I specifically chose this one because I wanted a clutch you can "modulate" out of the hole, instead of an on/off switch.

We will see if it will do that + hold the power.

It's gonna get 500+ put through it with slicks. If the rearend will hold that a few times...

I ordered the stage 2, the dual friction with cerametallic and carbon/kevlar, should be here next week sometime. I also got a billet steel flywheel on the way from Spec. I am also just throwing this out there but when I talked to Kyle, who is one of their techs, he told me that they use Valeo pressure plates too and they do not manufacture their own pressure plates. Doesn't matter to me since every LT1 clutch uses that same plate. Let me know how you like that full faced kevlar. I wanted to go that way but I daily drive my car and didn't want the Kevlar to glaze over so I went with the carbon/kevlar friction surface.

Well guys, I cant tell you how impressed I am with this clutch. We put it in yesterday at the hobby shop on base, took it out and started driving it easy. Maybe got 50 miles on it and I took it to install my walbro fuel pump I've had for a while.

Got that in and went out and started testing the nitrous...

The clutch hooks like MAD. It is slightly grabby, but most of that is me getting used to the engagement, where the old one (obviously worn out) was grabbing at the very top of the pedal, this one grabs about 2 inches max from the floor. and when it starts to grab and you keep letting out it LOCKS.

The most impressive part is we took it out racing last night after only 50 miles of break in time and put 2 full bottles through the car plus a bunch of motor passes.

It was launching off the 2-step at 4000 RPM and getting sprayed off the line as soon as the tires start to grab.

It puts the power to the ground sooo much better than the old one used to. It just blows the tires off (on slicks) all the way through first AND all the way through second.

Pass after pass after pass the clutch hooks EXACTLY like it did when fresh. Did not FADE, did not SLIP, at ALL. 20+ passes and it didnt get hot and squishy, nothing.

I'm very impressed. and that's a 100% objective view. If it didnt want to hold the power I was gonna pull it out for a stronger one, and ditch it but I wont be doing that. It feels like this clutch will love the punishment for a LONG time.

FWIW.

Interesting. I spoke with "Dan". I will call and ask him WTF and tell them to get their story straight.

It's not surprising though, even if they do change the fulcrum point on the fingers and heat treat the pressure plate, I'd say they actually do use the Valeo as a starting point, as do all the rest of them.
